What are the password requirements?

For Public Users:

  • Must be at least 12 characters long but not exceeding 128 characters.
  • Is case sensitive.
  • Must contain at least three of the following four complexity requirements: at least one uppercase letter; at least one lowercase letter; at least one numeric value; or, at least one special character.
  • Must not repeat any character sequentially more than two times.
  • Must not contain the username
  • Must not contain parts of the user's full name that exceed two consecutive characters.
  • Must not include any of the following values: password, huskers, or admin.
  • Must not have been previously used.

For State of Nebraska Users:

Passwords are managed through your agency. For users connected to the State's internal network you can review/set password using id.nebraska.gov. Users outside the State network can use reset.nebraska.gov.

How often do I have to change my password?


Password expiration is determined by the organization(s) with which you have registered, using the most secure requirement. You will be prompted to change your password when it expires.


What if I cannot remember my password?


For Public Users:

Click on 'Forgot Password'. You can choose between a 'Request Email Reset' and a link is sent to the email address associated with your username, or you can 'Answer Security Questions'. Both options will require you to set a new password.

For State of Nebraska Users:

Passwords are managed through your agency. For users connected to the State's internal network you can reset your password using id.nebraska.gov. Users outside the State network can use reset.nebraska.gov or you can contact your agencies Help Desk.


What if I mistype my password?


For Public Users:

You have three attempts to enter the correct password. After a third failed attempt your account will be disabled for 20 minutes.

For State of Nebraska Users:

You have three attempts to enter the correct password. After a third failed attempt your account will be locked. For users connected to the State's internal network you can unlock your account using id.nebraska.gov. Users outside the State network can use reset.nebraska.gov or you can contact your agencies Help Desk.


What are the username requirements?

For Public Users:

  • Must be at least 5 characters long.
  • Maximum length is 20 characters.
  • Must not contain any spaces.
  • Must not end with a period.
  • Must not contain @ / \\ ( ) [ ] : ; | = + * ? < > '' ,

For State of Nebraska Users:

Usernames are preset by your agency.

I already have a Centurion username, can I use it for invites from multiple agencies/applications?


Yes. First, ensure you are logged out of Centurion. Then when you click on the invitation link from the email use the 'Log In' option with your existing username, password, and the email the invitation was sent to.


What URL should I bookmark?


When adding Centurion to your Favorites you will want to remember to complete the login process before attempting to add to Favorites or create a Bookmark.
If you're comfortable adding to Favorites or creating a Bookmark manually, or want to edit an existing Favorite or Bookmark, the recommended URL is https://my.ne.gov.
